The Funeral Service for Ethel Virginia Wales age 93, of Athens, AL; will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Mg Mann and Joe Nave officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 1-2:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Wales passed away Thursday May 18, 2017 at Limestone Health Facility.
She was born March 21, 1924, in Limestone County, AL, to James Thomas Scoggins and Eva Gates Scoggins. She was a dedicated member of Mays Memorial Baptist Church.

She was born March 21, 1924, in Limestone County, AL, to James Thomas Scoggins and Eva Gates Scoggins. She was a dedicated member of Mays Memorial Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Robert B. Wales and one grandson Brent Wales, two sisters, Mary Irene Scoggins Brown, Nettie Lucille Scoggins Biggs; five brothers, Johnson Scoggins, Jimmy Thomas Scoggins, Raymond T. Scoggins, Sodom S. Scoggins, and Lincoln Scoggins.
She is survived by two sons Gilbert Wales of Madison, and Jerry Wales of Madison; four daughters Pat Davis and husband Mike of Athens, Peggy Bates of Fayetteville, TN, Gwendolyn Joop and husband Frank of Madison, and Deborah Barnes and husband Gary of Wetumpka, AL; 15 grandchildren ,a host of great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Griffin, Bobby Griffin, Keith Posey, David Posey, Joe Nave and Dustin Barnes. Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Plinto.
